We have over 530 verified customer reviews across our website, Amazon, and other platforms like The Home Depot, largely mentioning that the LogOX is a "back-saver," performs like "a second set of hands," and makes tree work a lot faster. But as much as we love reading our customer's reviews and sincerely appreciate each and every one, we weren't satisfied to rest on those laurels.
In 2018, we commissioned a research project with the Fairfield University School of Engineering (CT) to scientifically test our LogOX 3-in-1 Forestry MultiTool's ergonomic advantage claims and quantify the extent of the benefits that our customers had noted. The Fairfield team used BioPac Electromyography (EMG) technology to measure the muscular strain caused by performing different movements, in order to compare the outputs with and without using the LogOX. The incredible results of their experiment surprised even us!
As you can see from the chart below, using the LogOX Hauler had a significant impact in reducing the strain on three key parts of the body, caused by the most common tasks when processing firewood; lifting and walking with log rounds. "Lifting log correctly" is defined by properly bending at the knees and lowering one's entire body towards the ground and lifting with your legs, similar to a proper deadlift technique. "Lifting log incorrectly" is what the rest of us usually look like at the end of a long day splitting firewood, mainly bending over at the waist. The LogOX Hauler was also shown to reduce the time necessary to move log rounds from points A to B by 23%.
The study was submitted for peer review and selected for publication in the academic Journal of Innovative Ideas in Engineering and Technology (JIIET) in October of 2019, which you can read here.
We're proud to have another one of our ergonomically designed products, this time the WoodOX Sling, added to the Purdue University based non-profit organization, National AgrAbility Project's "Assistive Technology Database."
We strive to manufacture products that will assist everyone doing the tree work and heating with firewood. From harvest to hearth, we've got your back!
